NOTES: Barbossa was the $100,000 purchase that was made by the Halifax and Nioka studs at the 2021 Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale. At 23 months, ‘Barbossa’ displayed all the attributes that we had been searching for in our next sire. He was specifically selected to spearhead our poll breeding program and cover the daughters of the globally proven homozygous polled sire Nioka Pablo. Barbossa is incredibly active in the breeder paddock with a seasoned sires presence and will offer many astute breeders a genetic outcross. He is a beautifully natured, red bred, clean polled sire, who has excellent feet and great mobility. He possesses tremendous bone and features a big broad top with length, thickness, elevation and style that is well balanced. Most importantly he descends from a maternal line that has repeatedly produced at the highest level for Kandoona. In fact, a full brother to Barbossa was retained by Kandoona, which further instils confidence to invest in this genetically predictable powerhouse.
